I WEAR: A Night Out In London

As promised, look #11 includes better pictures of my outfit from Sketch. Fall is my favorite time of year. Dressing up is the most fun during autumn, and it's just such a romantic time. The crisp air, the leaves changing shades, everything looking like you've subtly pushed the "contrast" button up on Photoshop.

Hope you like the houndstooth pants. They're one of my favorite new buys here in London; maybe it's just me, but I feel like houndstooth is so characteristically British.

Enjoy the pictures after the jump! And thanks to Geoff for all my lovely pictures.

I GO: Sketch

A couple of nights ago, my friend and I went to this lovely place in Mayfair called Sketch. Sketch is a restaurant, collection of bars, tea room, and art gallery all rolled into one. If you like venues with a somewhat kooky vibe and a whole lot of personality, it's definitely worth the visit. Just be sure to make a reservation if you want to drop in for dinner; it gets pretty packed!

Better pictures of my outfit in the next post. Be sure to check out the pictures after the jump!

I WEAR: Cumberland Lodge

Look #10: Cumberland Lodge. On a side note, this was the outfit I was wearing when I met Her Majesty the Queen! For the story, check out this blog post!

I certainly miss the calm English countryside. But it's back to the grind. Good morning, London!

I WEAR: Windsor Castle

First of the Cumberland Lodge outfit posts!

Though we didn't have that much free time between guest speeches, we did have enough time to make it to Windsor Castle, where Her Majesty the Queen is currently living. Sorry, no pictures of the castle's interior, because no cameras were allowed. But enjoy the pictures of the castle's lovely facade!

Look #9: Windsor Castle. Appropriately named because it was the outfit I wore to explore Windsor Castle and the town of Windsor.

I GO: Cumberland Lodge (Really, I Met Her Majesty The Queen)

Let me elaborate on this post's title.

So remember how I spent the weekend at a former aristocratic mansion in Windsor Great Park? Well, as student guests of the Cumberland Lodge, we were invited to attend a service at the Royal Chapel along with... Her Majesty the Queen herself. Donning a brilliant blue hat and matching suit, she was the picture of elegance, and even greeted us briefly outside the chapel after service. Needless to stay, I am still awestruck.

On a less exciting note, here's a short video tour of our lovely accommodations at Cumberland Lodge. Outfit pictures in the next posts!

I EAT: Sally Lunn Buns

One last post on Bath and a quick update on my weekend plans! I will be spending the weekend at a 17th century country house in the middle of Windsor Great Park, Cumberland Lodge. You can bet there will be many pictures (and hopefully video too) to share when I get back, but unfortunately, that means I won't be posting over the weekend.

So, until then... Sally Lunn buns! Imagine the perfect loaf of bread: slightly sweet, perfectly soft underneath a crispy outer layer, and warm all over. That's what a Sally Lunn bun tastes like. Paired with smoked salmon, it was easily the best meal I've had in England yet. More pictures after the jump!

I EAT: Attack Of The Sweet Tooth

Confession: I eat way too many sweets for my own good. This past weekend in Bath I found the cutest little sweet shop. No, they didn't have Sourpatch Kids or Nerds. Instead, they had hundreds of mini hard candies in different flavors and colors, all stuffed into the cutest jam jars.

Can you guess what happened next? I'll give you a hint. As we speak, I am sustaining my several days-long sugar coma streak.

I GO: Bath (Stalking Jane Austen)

This is somewhat a continuation of yesterday's post. After visiting Stonehenge, I headed over to the quaint but iconic city of Bath. Once famous as a spa destination with miraculously restorative water, it is now still one of the most enchanting cities I've been to.

Compared to London, it's the perfect idyllic getaway, and the city of Bath knows it. All the buildings are built using the same color stone to heighten the city's visual appeal. Can you imagine imposing that restriction on a city like London? Anyways, pardon my excitement, I'm a bit of an architecture nerd.

Make sure to check out the pictures after the jump!

I GO: Stonehenge (A Day in the English Countryside)

This past weekend, I headed out to the county of Wiltshire to see the famous Stonehenge. Regardless of the ambiguity surrounding its original purpose, the spectacle of seeing century-old monoliths stacked atop one another and set against a majestic backdrop of velvety green fields was well worth the 8 AM departure.

Enjoy the pictures!

I THINK: A New Commitment

Hi everyone,

So now that I'm finally all settled into Londontown and my new school, I pinky promise I will try my best to.. post once everyday. One of the reasons I started this blog in the first place was I wanted to document my year studying abroad at LSE ( London School of EntertainmentLet's See Europe, London School of Economics). So it just wouldn't make sense if I didn't regularly log in updates, would it?

Until tomorrow!

I WEAR: Bethnal Green

Though I'm grateful for my clean and spacious dormitory, I love homes with character. This past weekend, I visited my friends in their lovely Bethnal Green ex-council flat in East London. As a neighborhood, Bethnal Green is rich in personality, and my friends had done all they could to ensure their apartment too was equally vibrant. More on that in future posts.

In the meantime, here's look #8: Bethnal Green. Inspired loosely by its namesake neighborhood's gritty vibe.

I EAT: Duck, Duck, Duck

No, it's not a fashion post. Don't be too surprised. After all, this blog is meant to be much more than just a fashion blog.

So what's on my mind right now? Roast duck.

I WEAR: Sunday On The Thames

Hey everyone!

My apologies for the slow updates, but it's been so hectic settling into my new home city of London. A week into living here, and I'm smitten already. There's so much to explore so I promise to post more regularly from here on out with all my shenanigans and, of course, corresponding outfits.

In the meantime, here's look #7: Sunday on the Thames. No inspiration, just an easy outfit for the perfect lazy Sunday spent enjoying rare London sunshine, strolling along the Thames, thumbing through used books, and pigging out on churros.
