I EAT: Mad Hatter's Afternoon Tea

You just know that I couldn't wrap up my year in London without one last afternoon tea. As it turned out, this one was one of my favorites of the year (and that's saying something considering I splurged on afternoon tea way too often). If you're looking for a creative spin on the tradition, The Sanderson's Mad Hatter version is perfect. It tackles all the things afternoon tea should have- perfect scones, delightful pastries, tasty tea, and an elegant ambiance- with a refreshingly whimsical flair and complimentary cocktail. Just the way you would imagine afternoon tea would be served in Wonderland.

Descriptive captions included below. Enjoy the pictures after the jump!

"Eat Me" Hearts: Strawberry-flavored chocolate casing filled with cream mousse
"Drink Me" Bottles: Three layers of passion fruit jelly, coconut panna cotta, and flavored foam
Rabbit's Clock Opera Cake: Chocolate and coffee sponge cake

From left to right: Egg mayo and cress on brown bread
Cucumber and black pepper on beetroot bread
Smoked salmon and cream cheese on green spinach bread
Ham and english mustard on saffron bread

Chocolate and hazelnut praline ice cream lollipop
Blueberry lollipop: Somehow manages to turn icy cold in your mouth!

  2. Oh, I love this, straight down the rabbit hole! (And it's actually been 150 years since Lewis Carroll took a little girl named Alice on a boat ride, spinning a tale about a white rabbit.) -- J xxx

    1. Haha, good idea! I'd turn recreating the dishes into a home project too, but I'd probably burn down my house in the process.
