Singapore: Inside Out

On August 9, 2015, Singapore, the Little Red Dot I called home for 9 years before moving to the US for college, celebrated its 50th birthday. As part of the celebrations, the Singapore: Inside Out exhibition traveled to multiple cities around the globe, showcasing Singapore’s contemporary artistic talents, and by extension, all the progress Singapore has made in its mere 50 years of independence.

The New York leg of the Singapore: Inside Out exhibition landed in Madison Square Park. It was the perfect venue. In my opinion, Madison Square Park is one of the (if not the) city’s most exciting urban parks. Not only does its Flatiron-adjacent location make it the perfect spot for people watching, but it’s constantly playing host to book readings, live music concerts, food fairs, and more. For a full schedule of events happening at Madison Square Park, click here, and for information about visiting the park, look below.
